Hyphy Wedding DJ · DJ 4WAN5 San Francisco · Oakland · Wine Country

Bay Area wedding DJ for guests who'd rather sing and dance than sit down.

The Bay Area wedding DJ built around sing-along receptions and packed dance floors. Open format, MC included, zero cringe. Packages from $2,800.

The Hyphy difference

Most DJs play hits. We build engaging sing-alongs that empty the seats.

01

Setlist mapping

We map your taste, your partner's, and your guest mix into an energy curve — when to seed the throwbacks, when to drop the anthem, when to pull back so the next chorus hits harder.

02

Crowd reading, live

The setlist is a plan, not a script. We read the room every two minutes — whose phones are out, whose shoes are off — and adjust in real time so the floor never loses the chorus.

03

Pro comedian MCing

Bring in working comedians from The Spotlight Comedy, Punch Line, and Cobb's Comedy Club — or keep it crisp with announcements that move the night: entrance, toasts, first dance, cake, then back to the music.

DJ 4WAN5 — Hyphy Wedding DJ — behind the decks at a Bay Area event

About

I'm DJ 4WAN5 — the DJ behind Hyphy Wedding DJ.

"I'd like to know what makes you cry, so I can be the one who always makes you smile."

I started DJing Bay Area house parties and never stopped chasing the moment when a whole room hits the same chorus at the same time. That's what I optimize for at every wedding — sing-alongs, packed floors, no awkward song fades.

Hyphy Wedding DJ is a Bay Area movement as much as it is a wedding service. Based in San Francisco, working weddings across the Bay and wine country, calendar kept deliberately tight so every couple gets full attention.

FAQ

Real questions, real answers.

How much does a wedding DJ cost in San Francisco?

Most experienced San Francisco Bay Area wedding DJs charge between $2,500 and $7,000 for a full reception, depending on hours of coverage, ceremony sound, lighting, photo booth, and venue logistics. Hyphy Wedding DJ packages start at $2,800 (The Essential+), $3,800 (The Signature+ — most popular), and $5,200 (The Luxe Experience+).

What is a sing-along wedding DJ?

A sing-along wedding DJ structures the setlist around songs guests already know every word to — anthems, throwbacks, choruses everyone shouts together — so the dance floor turns into a chorus instead of a polite groove. It's what Hyphy Wedding DJ specializes in.

Do you DJ weddings at San Francisco City Hall?

Yes. Hyphy Wedding DJ regularly works receptions tied to City Hall ceremonies, plus the Presidio, Cavallo Point, Sausalito waterfront venues, Oakland warehouses, and Napa/Sonoma wineries.

How far in advance should I book?

Most Bay Area couples book 9–14 months ahead, especially for peak dates between May and October. Book earlier if your wedding falls on a Saturday at a popular venue.

Do you also MC the reception?

Yes — every Hyphy Wedding DJ package includes MC duties. Entrance, toasts, cake cutting, first dance, parent dances, bouquet/garter, last call. Energetic, never cringe.

Can I have a professional comedian MC my wedding?

Yes. Hyphy Wedding DJ can bring in working comedians from The Spotlight Comedy, Punch Line, and Cobb's Comedy Club to MC your reception. It's a custom add-on — mention it in your inquiry and we'll quote it with your package. Couples who want a more traditional vibe can stick with the polished, no-cringe MCing included in every tier.

Can guests request songs?

Yes, within your do-not-play list and the energy curve we map together. Real-time requests are welcomed because crowd reading is core to keeping the floor full.

Do you provide ceremony sound?

Yes — wireless lavalier mic for the officiant, handheld for readings, processional and recessional music. Included in the Signature+ and Luxe packages or available as an add-on.

What gear do you bring?

Pioneer DJ controller, backup laptop, two QSC powered speakers for receptions up to ~200 guests, dual wireless mics, and uplighting on request. Larger guest counts and outdoor venues get scaled appropriately.

Do you take a do-not-play list?

Always. Every wedding gets a planning call where we lock in your must-plays, do-not-plays, and the moments you want to peak.

What music genres do you play?

Open format — pop, hip-hop, R&B, Latin, throwbacks, house, and indie anthems. The set is built around your taste, your guests' singalong potential, and how the room reads at each hour.

Do you DJ weddings outside San Francisco?

Yes — full Bay Area coverage including Marin, Sausalito, Berkeley, Oakland, Half Moon Bay, Napa, Sonoma, and Carmel/Monterey for destination weekends. Travel fee may apply outside SF city limits.

Are you insured?

Yes. Hyphy Wedding DJ carries liability insurance and can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for any Bay Area venue that requires one.

Clean, dirty, or mix? Can I pick the music versions?

Your wedding, your call. Clean radio edits, original explicit versions, or a smart mix for cocktail-hour-clean and late-night-uncut. We confirm this in the planning call.

Is a photo booth included?

Yes — a photo booth is included in every Hyphy Wedding DJ package. Digital-only on The Essential+, digital + ~100–150 prints on The Signature+, and unlimited prints with custom backdrop on The Luxe Experience+.

Do you bring lighting?

Dance-floor lighting and uplighting (decorative color wash on walls and key features) are both available. Most receptions feel meaningfully better with at least dance-floor lighting once the sun's down.
